About ClearPath Learning Academy

Reading and Writing Instruction From Specialists, Wherever Your Child Is.

ClearPath Learning Academy provides one-on-one reading and writing instruction online for students in grades K–12, in Florida and beyond, from a first grader learning to sound out words to a tenth grader writing a literary essay. Every session is taught by a Florida-certified reading specialist, and elementary math tutoring for grades K–5 is also available. Step Up For Students approved.

Why ClearPath Exists

Families teaching at home carry the whole language arts load themselves: phonics for the early reader, comprehension and writing in the middle years, literature and essays in high school. A general tutor can help with homework. A reading specialist can teach the subject.

ClearPath was built to be that specialist: one-on-one reading and writing instruction, taught by people trained in how reading actually develops. For a child who is behind, that means explicit, systematic work on the exact skills that are missing. For a child who is on track or ahead, it means real literature, real writing, and someone who can take their thinking further than a workbook can.

ClearPath is for any family that wants that kind of instruction and cannot get it where they are: homeschool families building a full language arts program, private school families adding what the classroom does not cover, and families anywhere who simply want their child taught well. Step Up scholarships put it within reach for Florida families, and private pay opens it to any family, anywhere.

“Phonics for the reader who is just starting. Novel study for the reader who is ready for more. The same specialist either way.”

Three tracks, grades K through 12, and a reading assessment before session one so instruction starts in the right place.
How We Teach

Structured Literacy, Start to Finish

Four things that are true of every ClearPath session, whatever the track.

Assessment before instruction

Every package starts with a Renaissance Star assessment, in reading or math. Instruction begins from real data, not a guess, and the track can be your choice or ours.

Explicit and systematic

Skills are taught directly, in a planned order, and practiced until they hold. That is true for a first grader blending sounds and for a ninth grader building an argument from evidence.

One-on-one, same specialist

No groups, no rotation. Your child works with the same reading specialist every session, so nothing is lost between sessions.

Parents in the loop

A short written note every week: what changed, what is still hard, what you can do at home, what is next. Plain language, no jargon.

Who Teaches

Certified Reading Specialists Only

ClearPath does not use general tutors, college students, or rotating staff. Every session is taught by someone trained in how reading develops and how to teach it.

  • Structured literacy and Science of Reading practice
  • Experience across K–12, from phonics to literary analysis

  • Written weekly notes to parents, in plain language
